(www.RichmondAmerican.com), which builds under the name "Richmond American Homes," today announced that it received approximately 760 home orders in July 2000, representing an increase of 16% (9% on a "same store" basis) over the 658 home orders received for the same period in 1999. Home orders in July 2000 particularly were strong in Phoenix and Northern California due to a larger number of active subdivisions and continued strong demand for homes in these markets. The Company has received orders for approximately 5,049 homes for the seven months ended July 31, 2000, an increase of 2% over the 4,933 home orders received for the same period in 1999.
